The Cleveland Browns have moved up one spot in the 2012 NFL draft in a trade with the Minnesota Vikings. The Browns sent the fourth overall pick, along with fourth-, fifth- and seventh-round picks (Nos. 118, 139 and 211 overall, respectively) in order to acquire the Vikings' third overall pick.
The target, according to FOX's Jay Glazer, is former Alabama Crimson Tide running back Trent Richardson. The Browns would only agree to a trade like this if they were concerned another team could leapfrog them into the third spot and take their desired player. There was speculation that the Buccaneers could move up from the fifth to the third overall pick to select Richardson.
All things considered, three mid- and late-round draft picks aren't such a bad price to pay to secure the player you want, if the player works out.
