The Dallas Cowboys are the latest team to trade up to the top of the 2012 NFL Draft. The Cowboys traded up from the 14th pick all the way to the sixth pick, which was owned by the St. Louis Rams, and they plan to select LSU's Morris Claiborne, the top cornerback in the draft. The Rams picked up the Cowboys' second round pick as well.
The Rams now have three second round picks in the 2012 NFL Draft and two first round picks in each of the next two drafts. Their method of stockpiling picks is working extremely well.
Moving up eight spots near the top of the draft is very expensive, as the Browns and Jaguars learned earlier in the draft. But this gives the Cowboys potentially one of the best young cornerback tandems with Brandon Carr.
