With the 30th overall pick in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the San Fransisco 49ers have selected Illinois wide receiver A.J. Jenkins. Jenkins was a very late riser before the NFL Draft and was not one of Mocking The Draft's Top 100 prospects.
Here's what Mocking The Draft had to say about Jenkins before the draft.
Strengths: Jenkins has decent hands and has shown he knows the intricacies of route running. Excels at finding and picking apart the soft spot in zone coverage. Gets off the line nicely and doesn't get jammed despite his size.
Weaknesses: There is nothing special about Jenkins' play, but he's solid across the board. Not especially fast, big, strong or athletic. Will body catch at times, which leads to drops.
