2012 NFL Draft Results: North Alabama CB Janoris Jenkins Selected By Rams With 39th Pick

With the 39th pick in the 2012 NFL draft, the St. Louis Rams select North Alabama cornerback Janoris Jenkins. Jenkins is rated as the third-best prospect at his position and the No. 27 player overall, according to Mocking The Draft's rankings.

The Rams, who have a bevy of picks, took Michael Brockers in the first round and Brian Quick with the 33rd pick, the first in the second round.

According to Dan Kadar, Jenkins is a tremendous pure cover corner with great ball skills in either man or zone coverage. Jenkins' biggest questions concern his less-than stellar reputation:

Final Word: The big knock on Jenkins is his character issues. Some teams will completely have him off their board. He was kicked out of Florida following a second drug-related arrest. Also arrested for a bar fight at Florida. At North Alabama he was suspended a game for throwing a punch at an opponent. Suffered a torn labrum in 2010.

But if you get past the non-football things with Jenkins, he's a great football player. He did well against A.J. Green and Julio Jones in 2010 and tends to play bigger than his size. However, the character issues will likely push him far down the draft board.
