With the 33rd pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams selected wide receiver Brian Quick out of FCS Appalachian State. Mocking the Draft has Quick rated as the 10th wide receiver and 77th player overall in their prospect rankings.
Though he comes from a small school, Quick has an NFL body, at 6-3 ½, 222 pounds. Here's what Mocking the Draft had to say about him:
Strengths: Has the size to play outside in the NFL. Will be good at beating the jam, though he didn't see a lot of press coverage in college. Flashes decent hands but will drop some catchable passes. Maintains good balance running his routes. Just scratching the surface of his ability.
Weaknesses: There main area of concern for Quick is that he may struggle to separate from coverage in the NFL. Needs room to get up to speed. Isn't especially quick in his movements. Will have to be taught a full NFL route tree. Still raw and only played one year of high school football.
