Bucs-Texans Trade: Tampa Bay Moves Into Round 2

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded down in the 1st round of the 2012 NFL Draft, and they'll trade up in the 2nd round. The Bucs moved up to the 58th pick in the draft in a trade with the Houston Texans. The Texans picked up the Bucs 3rd and 4th round picks in exchange for their pick.

The Bucs target is Nebraska LB Lavonte David. Tampa must have liked him quite a bit if they were willing to surrender extra 3rd and 4th round picks to do the deal.

The Bucs moved down in the 1st round from the 5th to the 7th pick and selected Alabama safety Mark Barron, the top safety in the draft. Adding pieces to their defense was one of the keys to this draft and they've found two potential starters with their first two picks.
