With the 71st pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins picked Josh Leribeus, a guard from SMU.
This was only Washington's second pick in the draft, after taking Robert Griffin III with the second pick in the first round. Washington traded away a bevy of picks to move up for Griffin.
With the 72nd pick in the third round, the Miami Dolphins selected Olivier Vernon, a local product from the University of Miami. Vernon is the first defensive player picked by the Dolphins in the draft. He joins QB Ryan Tannehill and OT Jonathan Martin, selected in the first and second rounds.
With the 73rd pick in the third round, the San Diego Chargers opted for a safety, Brandon Taylor from LSU. San Diego has gone with defensive players in each round of the draft. The team took South Carolina DE Melvin Ingram in the first and Connecticut defensive tackle Kendall Reyes in the second round.
