With the 14th pick (77) in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the New York Jets selected Demario Davis, a linebacker from Arkansas State. Davis joins a Jets draft class that includes DE Quinton Coples, a first-round pick, and WR Stephen Hill, a second-round pick. Davis is a speedster and a natural run defender. He should contribute on special teams right away.

With the 15th pick (78) in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins selected Missouri TE Michael Egnew. Tall and athletic, Miami will look to the former Tiger to create matchup problems in the middle, similar to what their division rivals in New England have done. Six picks prior to this one, the Dolphins added defensive end Olivier Vernon. Miami picked Stanford tackle Jonathan Martin in the second round, and quarterback Ryan Tannehill in the first.

With the 16th pick (79) in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected Brandon Hardin from Oregon State. Hardin played corner in college, but his size lends itself naturally to the safety position in the NFL, where he can matchup with smaller receivers and tight ends as well as play the run. The Bears picked wide receiver Alshon Jeffery with their second-round pick, and added a pass rusher, Boise State's Shea McClellin in the first round.
