With the 26th pick (89th overall) of the third round, the New Orleans Saints finally were able to make a selection in the 2012 NFL Draft. With their pick, the Saints selected defensive end Akiem Hicks out of Regina in Canada.
With the 27th pick (90th overall) of the third round, the New England Patriots added another pass rusher, drafting defensive end Jake Bequette out of Arkansas. Bequette joins first-round picks Chandler Jones and Dont'a Hightower, as well as second-round pick safety Tavon Wilson.
With the 28th pick (91st overall) of the third round, the Atlanta Falcons picked up offensive tackle Lamar Holmes out of Southern Miss. Holmes joins fellow offensive lineman Peter Konz, the Falcons' second-round pick.
