With the 253rd and final pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts selected this year's Mr. Irrelevant, Chandler Harnish, a quarterback from Northern Illinois. Harnish will be treated to a wonderful vacation package in California, courtesy of former NFL and USC wide receiver Paul Salata. From the event's official website:
Despite its innate humility, despite its unholier-than-thou theme and despite its delightfully miserable lower-than-low self-esteem, Irrelevant Week in Newport Beach, California, USA, has mushroomed into one of the sporting world's most popular events - ranking right up there with Super Bowl Week, Final Four Week, Kentucky Derby Week and shooting sharks in a barrel.
Once Irrelevant Week hit age 20, it became rather obvious that it will never go away. It's here to stay.Irrelevant Week is a weeklong celebration of the Underdog, the final pick of the NFL draft held in Orange County. Events include a golf tournament, a regatta and a sports banquet, and are open to the public.

The Green Bay Packers took a presumptive backup to learn behind Aaron Rodgers in B.J. Coleman, a Tennessee transfer out of Tennessee-Chattanooga, but the pick is made more interesting by who is still out there — college football's winningest all-time quarterback, Kellen Moore. He remains on the board as we get into Mr. Irrelevant territory.

There's not much intrigue left once the seventh round really gets rolling, but fans in Evanston, Ill., have a little something to cheer about: two skill-position players from last year's Northwestern Wildcats were drafted in three picks. Tight end Drake Dunsmore and wide receiver Jeremy Ebert were key cogs to the WIldcats' 6-7 team last year, and they were drafted by the Buccaneers and Patriots, respectively.
233. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Northwestern TE Drake Dunsmore, 6'2", 241 pounds
234. New Orleans Saints: Nebraska OT Marcel Jones, 6'6", 320 pounds

Bryce Brown was one of the nation's most coveted recruits in the class of 2009. But his time at Tennessee ended poorly, and he failed to perform at Kansas State after transferring. The Philadelphia Eagles took a flier on him in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft, and will be hoping that Brown can return to form he has not shown as a collegian.
228. Jacksonville Jaguars: Ashland Eagles defensive tackle Jeris Pendleton, 6'2", 322 pounds
229. Philadelphia Eagles: Kansas St. Wildcats running back Bryce Brown, 6'0", 223 pounds

It was only a matter of time before Bill Belichick took a questionable-character guy in efforts to reform him to the "Patriot Way," and mid-seventh round, with the selection of Nebraska corner Alfonzo Dennard, it finally happened. Dennard spent some time in jail before the draft after allegedly punching a police officer. Once touted as a possible Day 2 selection, he's fallen far enough for the Patriots to feel the risk is low enough.
223. Detroit Lions: Oklahoma LB Travis Lewis, 6'1", 246 pounds
224. New England Patriots: Nebraska CB Alfonzo Dennard, 5'10", 204 pounds

Late in the draft, teams love taking flyers on guys with one positive attribute or another, yet have a major flaw. For the three defensive backs taken, two by the Redskins, early in the seventh round, it's clear there's a run on light, speedy players who could be used as nickel backs down the road. The Redskins took SMU DB Richard Crawford and Iowa CB Jordan Bernstine to try to shore up their pass defense.
213. Washington Redskins: SMU DB Richard Crawford, 5'11", 189 pounds
214. Indianapolis Colts: Vanderbilt DE Tim Fugger, 6'3, 248 pounds
215. Miami Dolphins: Texas DT Kheeston Randall, 6'4" 293 pounds
216. Carolina Panthers: California S, D.J. Campbell, 6'0" 201 pounds
