Former Stanford wide receiver Chris Owusu went undrafted largely due to health concerns, but he has agreed to a deal with the San Francisco 49ers, according to a report by Matt Miller. He will join his former coach at Stanford, John Harbaugh, and has a good shot at making the roster and adding depth to San Francisco's receiving corps.
Owusu was one of the fastest wide receivers in the draft, running a 4.31 and 4.36 at the scouting combine in February. But recurring concussions at Stanford created concerns during the draft process. Along with Coby Fleener, he was one of the top targets for No. 1 overall pick Andrew Luck. His final season, however, ended early in November when he took another huge hit that resulted in a concussion. The local signing and reunion with Harbaugh makes for a nice story in the Bay Area.
