Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay stirred a little excitement on Thursday when he curiously reassured his Twitter followers not to worry about first overall pick Andrew Luck getting a deal done before training camp started. An hour later, Luck was signed.

Irsay himself confirmed the news not long after a gaggle of reporters shared it via Twitter. The team's owner also included a photo of his newest employee signing a contract worth roughly $22 million at the team's headquarters. Here is Luck in action, decked out in team colors.

While he was the first pick in the 2012 NFL draft, Luck has been something of a second fiddle in the media in the months since his selection, as No. 2 pick Robert Griffin III of the Washington Redskins has drawn more of the public eye. Despite the relative lack of media attention, the Stanford product was widely considered not only the top quarterback prospect in the draft, but also one of the best passers to come along in some time. He now has to live up to the billing, with some mighty large shoes to fill in Indianapolis.
