Lions, Riley Reiff Not Close On Contract

Stay connected with SB Nation

There are a handful of first-round draft picks that still remain unsigned, including the Detroit Lions' first-round pick, offensive tackle Riley Reiff. The first-overall pick in Andrew Luck has been signed, which usually sets the bar for the rest of the round, but according to Carlos Monarrez of The Detroit Free Press, the Lions and Reiff are still trying to work out a deal by Monday.

But the Lions' first-round pick, offensive lineman Riley Reiff, remains unsigned with rookies due to report Monday for training camp in Allen Park. Reiff is among 10 first-round picks who have not signed. Details are scarce on the negotiations. Neither team president Tom Lewand nor Reiff's agent, Neil Cornrich, returned messages Thursday.

Lions rookies are scheduled to report on Monday July 23, but Monarrez notes that Reiff and his agent are likely waiting on No. 4 overall pick Matt Kalil to sign his deal, before moving forward.
