Brandon Weeden has agreed to terms on a four-year contract worth approximately $8.1 million with the Cleveland Browns, according to reports. The 28-year-old rookie will report to training camp Wednesday with the Browns' rookies, quarterbacks and select veterans.
Head coach Pat Shurmur is expected to name Weeden as the team's starting quarterback at some point, though when exactly is unknown.
"Sooner than later, I think once we've made the decision, that's the deal," said Shurmur. "If you know that he's going to be your guy, then make it happen so everybody gets comfortable working with that guy all the time."
Weeden was selected with the 22nd overall pick in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He passed for 4,727 yards and 37 touchdowns last season for Oklahoma State on his way to leading the Cowboys to a win over the Stanford Cardinal in the 2012 Fiesta Bowl.
