I'm comin back for my senior season we gotta get where we need to get— Dominique Easley (@MR_ChUcKiE_2) January 8, 2013
The announcement came shortly after several Florida underclassmen declared for the 2013 NFL Draft, including three defensive starters. Defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, safety Matt Elam and linebacker Jelani Jenkins are all heading to the pros.
Easley finished his 2012 season with 26 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and four sacks after switching to more of a defensive end role with the team. In his freshman and sophomore seasons, Easley primarily played defensive tackle and started 12 games at the position in 2011 before tearing his ACL in the regular season finale against Florida State.
The 2012 Gators lost just one regular season game and earned a trip to the Sugar Bowl, but were upset by the Louisville Cardinals, 33-23. Easley finished that game with five tackles but no sacks.
