The Peyton Manning decision was widely expected to be wrapped up before Tuesday afternoon, the start of free agency, Now, according to ESPN, that's unlikely. Manning's decision isn't expected to happen before Tuesday. Free agency starts at 4 p.m. ET on that day.
Manning has made two visits so far, and it appears those may be the only two he takes. He has returned from his Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals visits and headed back to his Miami home. It's believed he could potentially talk to the Dolphins, considering he's close enough to them.
As far as we know, Denver and Arizona are the leading candidates at this point. Both ESPN and the Denver Post have reported the Chiefs and Seahawks are out of the race. Other reports have disputed that.
Manning's agent, Tom Condon, did not accompany him on either visit, which means the two sides haven't been talking contract. A deal as big as the one Manning is expected to receive could take some time to work out.
