It's might safe to say that the Kevin Kolb experiment has officially failed and is coming to an end for the Arizona Cardinals. Free agency opens soon and it seems that the Cardinals are one of three teams most likely to land future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning. If that's the case, Kolb will be out on the street looking for a new job immediately.
If the Cardinals don't land Manning, there's still a chance that they may want to dump Kolb as they owe him a $7 million roster bonus on March 17 if he's still on the team. One way to convince Manning that the team means business is to sign good free agent offensive linemen to make sure that the quarterback doesn't get sacked 54 times like they did in 2011. Carl Nicks and Ben Grubbs could be options at guard and at tackle, Jared Gaither and Demetrius Bell could shore up the line.
Also, if the team does sign Manning, they may go after Reggie Wayne as well. Wayne and Manning know each other very well and Wayne would be a good No. 2 receiver to play opposite of Larry Fitzgerald. The free agency picture of the Cards is a little murky because it's currently unclear as to what will happen with Manning. However, once he signs, be it with Arizona or another team, the Cardinals will make a few moves to put themselves in a better position in 2012.
