The Washington Redskins' offseason hits just keep on coming.
On Tuesday, free agency opened and the team wasted no time in getting down to business, signing wide receiver Pierre Garcon and re-signing defensive lineman Adam Carriker. Now it appears the team is close to closing deals with two more free agents.
Grant Paulsen of 106.7 THE FAN in Washington, D.C. is reporting that the Redskins are close to signing a deal with free agent wide receiver Eddie Royal, formerly of the Denver Broncos.
Meanwhile, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the team is close to coming to terms with San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Josh Morgan.
With the acquisitions of Garcon, Royal and Morgan, it appears the team is putting together a fearsome cadre of wideouts to accomodate whichever quarterback they start in 2012. If the Redskins trading up to the overall No. 2 selection in the 2012 NFL draft is any indication, Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III will soon not be lacking for any targets.
