Free Agent LaRon Landry Drawing Interest From New England Patriots

Stay connected with SB Nation

The New England Patriots continue to look for upgrades to their secondary. After scheduling a visit with Steve Gregory, the Patriots are also interested in LaRon Landry, former Washington Redskins safety, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Landry, if healthy, would be a major boost to the Patriots secondary. The problem with Landry is that he hasn't been healthy lately. He's played in just 17 games the last two seasons due to injury. He's one of the league's top safeties when he is healthy but teams will definitely be worried about him staying on the field.

Landry was the sixth overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft. With a somewhat weak free agency safety class, he can cash in this year. Other teams reportedly showing interest in him include the Jets, Eagles, Lions and Bears.
