The Miami Dolphins are nearing a deal to bring back nose tackle Paul Soliai, according to several reports. Soliai was the Dolphins franchise tag player last year and he hit free agency for about 24 hours before returning to the Dolphins.
He was reportedly scheduled to visit the Denver Broncos but, apparently, that didn't happen.
The Dolphins were interested in re-signing him all along and for good reason. Nose tackles are hard to come by in the NFL, which is why multiple teams were interested in Soliai in his short stint on the open market. He's 28 years old and stands 6'4" and 344 pounds.
Much of the talk around the Dolphins in free agency has surrounded Peyton Manning but this is a key signing for the team.
