Mario Williams, Buffalo Bills 'Close To A Deal'

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Buffalo Bills plan to make free agent Mario Williams an offer he can't refuse. Reportedly, the Bills plan to make Williams an offer that would surpass Julius Peppers' contract with the Chicago Bears, making him the highest paid defensive player in the NFL.

According to multiple reports, the two sides are nearing a deal. ESPN reports the Bills have met most of Williams' conditions for a contract and the two sides are "close to a deal".

Outside of Peyton Manning, Mario Williams is the top player on the free agent market. This would be a major coup for Buffalo, who was intent on fixing their pass rush in free agency.

Buffalo was Williams' first free agent visit and he hasn't left at this point. Sounds like it's only a matter of time before the Bills are announcing a mega-deal for Williams.
