The Buffalo Bills have reportedly given Mario Wililams a six-year contract that is worth up to $100 million. Monster numbers for the top defensive player in free agency. The Bills have significantly improved their pass rush and their defense as a whole with this move.
ESPN has reported that the deal is worth up to $100 million over six years and $50 million of that is guaranteed. That's more than the six-year, $91.5 million deal Julius Peppers signed with the Chicago Bears which makes Williams the highest paid defensive player in the NFL (he still can't touch Calvin Johnson's $132 million deal).
It'll be interesting to see how the contract is structured because we've had other players receive $100 million deals (looking at you, Albert Haynesworth) that never really panned out.
This contract makes the whole Mario Williams vs. Reggie Bush debate six years ago seem a little silly.
