As expected, the Oakland Raiders are releasing Kamerion Wimbley. Multiple reports confirm that the Raiders have informed the pass rusher that he will be released, making him a free agent. Wimbley signed a five-year, $48 million deal with the Raiders last season but they were unable to keep him with their salary cap situation.
With 16 sacks in the last two seasons, Wimbley immediately becomes the best pass rusher on the market and there will be plenty of interest in him from the teams that missed out on Mario Williams.
Wimbley is a former first round pick by the Cleveland Browns in the 2006 NFL draft. He spent his first four seasons in Cleveland before playing for the Raiders the last two seasons.
