Plaxico Burress has remained in contact with the Philadelphia Eagles, as well as other teams, according to a league source.
Burress has expressed interest in joining the Eagles before, saying "nothing else would make me happier." He will turn 35 before the season, though at 6-foot, 5-inches, 232 pounds he still holds plenty of value as a red zone threat.
Burress caught 45 passes for the New York Jets last season, racking up 612 yards and eight touchdowns while starting 16 games. The Eagles could use the size, considering their receiving corps is currently led by the speedier DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin.
The Eagles showed interest in the veteran receiver last season before he signed with the Jets. Considering the relatively slim pickings left -- Braylon Edwards, Early Doucet, Ted Ginn Jr., Jerricho Cotchery and Lee Evans -- Burress could land himself a decent deal before the season begins.
