Jim Irsay, Colts Congratulate Peyton Manning

Stay connected with SB Nation

Two weeks ago, the Indianapolis Colts said goodbye to the greatest player in franchise history. Now they know where he's going. Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos agreed to a five-year, $96 million deal, and a press conference is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

Colts owner Jim Irsay released a statement after the Manning-to-Denver news became official.

"I congratulate Peyton as he heads to a tremendous organization in the Denver Broncos. We wish him nothing but the best as he continues his Hall of Fame career."

Manning is 36 years old, and he's hoping for similar success to what John Elway had with the Broncos at that age. In the late 1990s, Elway won back-to-back Super Bowls before retiring. Manning and the Colts went to two Super Bowls together, winning one.
