The San Francisco 49ers continue to add to their offense in the offseason. They have reportedly reached an agreement with free agent running back Brandon Jacobs.

The San Francisco 49ers had a 2011 season that exceeded all expectations, with a spectacular defense helping to guide the team all the way to the NFC Championship game. The Niners have spent much of the offseason looking to improve the team, with their sights set on another deep postseason run. To that end, they've been focusing on beefing up their offense, by signing Randy Moss and former New York Giants wide receiver Mario Manningham. Now it appears as though they have added another member of the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported on Wednesday that the 49ers have come to an agreement with running back Brandon Jacobs. No further details of the deal are available at this time.

Jacobs will give the 49ers another dangerous option in the backfield, to complement their incumbent star running back Frank Gore.
