The Washington Redskins are gearing up for a big 2012 season. The 2012 NFL Draft is just two weeks away and the Redskins are expected to select Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Robert Griffin III -- they've given up a bevy of picks to be able to secure the No. 2 overall selection. As for the rest of the offseason, Washington is working on shoring up the holes they need to fill by re-signing key players and hitting the open free agent market hard. The signed wide receiver Pierre Garcon and have locked up safeties Brandon Merriweather and Madieu Williams.
On Friday, the official Redskins Twitter feed sent out a picture of safety Tanard Jackson signing a contract with the team, making a trio of free agent safeties that the team has signed over the past month. It would appear they have their secondary well in order.
Jackson had been with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since being drafted in 2007. He has 239 tackles, 10 interceptions and one sack in his NFL career.
