Read More: Sebastian Vollmer (OT - NEP), New England Patriots, New York Giants
Nate Solder has done well for the New England Patriots at right tackle this season, but they could get a boost -- at least in depth -- with the return of Sebastian Vollmer. The only German-born player in the NFL started all 16 games at right tackle for the New England Patriots in 2010, but has been seriously hindered by injuries in 2011. After missing the AFC Championship Game due to a lingering foot injury, it appears that Vollmer could play in the Super Bowl against the New York Giants.
In his first press conference since the team arrived in Indianapolis, Bill Belichick said that Vollmer had the cast removed from his foot and that he was close to playing against the Baltimore Ravens. Even if Vollmer does dress, Solder will likely take the majority of snaps at right tackle, but Vollmer is a much larger player than Solder and Belichick has split time between the two players on multiple occasions.
