Read More: Rob Gronkowski (TE - NEP), New England Patriots, New York Giants
New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski took the protective boot off of his left foot on Monday and he told reporters on Tuesday that it's not going back on before the Super Bowl (via WEEI).
"It’s off, no more boot."
When asked whether or not he would definitly play on Sunday, Gronkowski remained slightly hesitant:
"Hopefully, that's the goal," said Gronkowski. "Get out there, be effective and help out the team. But that's in like six days, you never know. It could be 100% by then, or it could be 2% by then. We are just taking it day by day, making positive strides, moving forward, so it's going good."
Gronkowski scored 17 TD catches and racked up 1,327 receiving yards in 2011, both new single-season records for NFL tight ends.
