The New England Patriots are dealing with a few injuries on the offensive side of the football heading into the 2012 Super Bowl. Tuesday's reports indicate that the starting offensive line should be intact for Sunday's big game against the New York Giants, however, as offensive tackleSebastian Vollmer is expected to play.
Vollmer hasn't played in seven games due to back and foot injuries, but he's apparently ready to return for the NFL's championship game. Whether he'll start or back-up rookie Nate Solder has yet to be decided, however, according to the Patriots offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia.
"He'll play. He'll play in this game at some point, whether we have Nate (Solder) outside or him at tackle," Scarnecchia said, according to WEEI.com. "He's going to be out there, and thank God we've got him."
Vollmer, along with fellow offensive lineman Matt Light, missed Tuesday's media day availability due to illness. Neither illness is expected to affect their ability to play this weekend, though.
