Super Bowl 2012: Patriots Simulate Halftime During Practice

The New England Patriots are going full bore to prepare for Super Bowl XVLI. They're doing their normal practices during the week, but Bill Belichick decided to go the extra mile and flex his coaching "genius" by simulating a 31-minute "halftime" break at practice.

"Coach Belichick is a genius," said running back Stevan Ridley. "He's special. That was coach Belichick doing his thing. To come up with that idea shows you what he's thinking about. He knows what's going to work and he's been around longer than any of us, and he's doing everything he can to get us prepared," said Ridley. "We were sitting in there and we had a halftime talk like it'll be Sunday. He wanted this to be like a game experience, as close as we could get."

As far as anyone knows, this is the first time in NFL history a team in Super Bowl week have simulated the extended halftime. Belichick is taking simulating game conditions to an entirely new level.
