Super Bowl Ticket Prices Are Falling

It would be an absolute misstatement of fact to suggest that tickets for Super Bowl XLVI are "cheap." That said, prices have been heading downward ever since they peaked on Jan. 27, according to secondary-market information gathered by SB Nation ticketing partner TiqIQ.

As of today, the average price on the secondary market is $3,664.12 and the cheapest tickets are about $2,000 to see the New England Patriots play the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday. While that's clearly not pocket change, the average ticket price is down 15 percent from the peak of $4,310.67. The get-in price was sitting at $2,400 back on Jan. 27.

The prices have fallen so far, in fact, that they aren't even that high by historical standards. The average price is only .39 percent more than they were for last year's game between the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers. The get-in price is actually 11.05 percent less than last year's of $2,260.

On the high end, the most expensive ticket is currently going for $12,633, which would put you in Sec. 113, Row 1. There's also a suite going for $445,000. According to a report in Bloomberg News, a ticket on NFL.com's ticket exchange sold for $16,480.
