Super Bowl Pick: Giants Fans Predict A Close One

The New York Giants are 3-point underdogs as of Friday heading into the 2012 Super Bowl against the New England Patriots. There's good reason for that, something about Tom Brady and a laser arm and a star tight end making it back onto the field. Despite those factors though, plenty of bettors have been moving into the Giants camp lately, making Pats fans nervous. Count Jared Smith of SB Nation New York among those who believe that the G-Men will pull off the upset.

Smith sees the game moving in one of two directions. Either Eli Manning and the Giants pass rush continue to operate at unstoppable levels, or the Pats take the disrespect memes of the past two weeks to heart and cruise to yet another Lombardi Trophy. Smith predicts the former, on the belief that Manning and head coach Tom Coughlin will be too well-prepared to lose.

So, with that logic I'm rolling with the Giants, who I picked to down the Falcons, Packers and 49ers, respectively. Enjoy G-Men fans as you get back, "back in the New York grooooooove!"

Prediction: Giants 20, Patriots 19.
