Feb 4, 2012 - The NFL realizes anything they touch turns to gold so why not get into awards shows? The league is conducting an awards show on Saturday night called "NFL Honors" which will include an array of awards ranging from Associated Press coach of the year to NFL.com fantasy player of the year.
SB Nation is represented at the awards show and it will be a star-studded event if you're a football fan. They may as well have invited the Pro Bowl rosters judging by the names that are scheduled to appear including guys like Peyton Manning and Rex Ryan.
Previously these awards were simply announced by the AP but the NFL is capitalizing on their own popularity by running this as an awards show, which will air at 9:00 p.m. on NBC. The show is scheduled to last two hours and it's hosted by Alec Baldwin.
Among the AP awards presented on Saturday night are the most valuable player, coach of the year, offensive player, offensive rookie of the year, comeback player of the year and rookie of the year.
Other awards include Madden Most Valuable Protectors Award, Walter Payton Man of the Year and play of the year.
