With a minute left, the game was in Tom Brady's hands. If the Patriots' superstar quarterback could lead New England on a touchdown drive with less than a minute left in the game, he could have gotten the Patriots their fourth Super Bowl victory, and secured his third Super Bowl MVP.

And he tried. But the Giants' defensive line did just enough to stop him, with a massive sack by Justin Tuck on third down that forced the Patriots to take a timeout and enough pressure throughout the final drive to force the Patriots to try a Hail Mary on the game's final play.

It fell incomplete, just feet in front of Rob Gronkowski, the Patriots' record-breaking tight end. And for the second time in four years, the Patriots fell just short of the NFL's ultimate prize, leaving the Giants to claim it.
