Super Bowl XLVI, as most people had predicted, was a close contest. The New York Giants and New England Patriots went at one another just as fiercely as in their 2008 matchup. Through the first three quarters, it appeared as though Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was well on his way to capturing his third Super Bowl MVP.
It was not to be, however, as the Giants came from behind for the 21-17 victory and their second Super Bowl win over the Pats in the last five years. Eli Manning was named the Super Bowl MVP, his second time winning the award in his two trips to the Super Bowl.
Manning finished the game going 30-for-40 with 296 passing yards and a touchdown.

With the award and the Super Bowl win, Manning should now put any arguments behind him about whether he belongs in the same conversation as his brother, Peyton Manning. His two Super Bowl titles and two Super Bowl MVP awards now trump Peyton's.
