Santonio Holmes has already been ruled out for the New York Jets meeting with the Houston Texans in Week 5.
New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes has been ruled out of next week's game against the Houston Texans due to a foot injury sustained against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4, according to head coach Rex Ryan on Monday. Ryan stated that the X-rays on the affected area came back negative but that a time-table had yet to be established for a return.
Holmes suffered the injury in the third quarter of Sunday's game when he slipped and fell to the turf untouched after completing a reception. To make matters worse, Holmes let go of the ball, which allowed San Francisco cornerback Carlos Rogers to easily recover the fumble for a 51-yard touchdown return as the wide receiver rolled on the turf in agony.
Holmes struggled to put weight on his leg and needed to be carted off the field. He ended the game with four catches for 29 yards.
