Ole Miss scored 17 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to tame the Auburn Tigers, 41-20, at home on Saturday afternoon.
In a matchup of two teams searching for their first SEC win, the Ole Miss Rebels came out on top, defeating the Auburn Tigers 41-20 at home on Saturday afternoon.
After entering the fourth quarter with a 24-20 lead, Ole Miss put the game out of reach with three unanswered scores, including a 55-yard receiving touchdown by Jeff Scott. The running back caught a pass from quarterback Bo Wallace and appeared to be tackled before breaking free and scampering into the end zone.
Ole Miss took an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter with a 25-yard passing connection from wide receiver Randall Mackey to Wallace, serving as the first score. The Rebels' defense extended the lead on Auburn's next drive when the snap went over quarterback Clint Moseley's head and into the end zone, where it was recovered by C.J. Johnson.
While it appeared the Tigers' offense was headed for another long day, Auburn picked up the attack in the second quarter and produced three consecutive scores. Tre Mason provided the first two touchdowns with rushing scores from inside the Rebels' 10-yard line.
Box Score Hero: Jeff Scott did it through both the air and ground game with 137 rushing yards and 70 receiving yards.
But Did They Cover? Ole Miss covered as four-point favorites.
