Cardinals fans react to Game 1 victory over Giants

David Freese and Carlos Beltran continued their torrid October hitting Sunday evening, each launching two-run home runs to give the St. Louis Cardinals a 6-4 victory over the Giants in Game 1 of the NLCS. The Cardinals pair may have had their struggles at times in the regular season, but they both have once again picked up their play in the playoffs.

With his two-run blast in the fourth inning Sunday, Beltran is now in the company of Albert Pujols and Babe Ruth as the only MLB players to have at least 14 home runs and a .325 batting average in the postseason. For Cardinals fans at Viva El Birdos, the continued heroics of Freese and Beltran won't get old any time soon, as several reactions to the duo's home runs from the blog's Game Thread illuminate:

The Cardinals will send right-hander Chris Carpenter to the mound Monday night to take on the Giants in Game 2. Game time is set for 8 p.m. ET; the contest will be aired on FOX.
