Minnesota defensive end Jared Allen had high praise for his Vikings teammates on Friday.
Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen joined XTRA 910 in Phoenix to discuss his thoughts on the Vikings this season. With Minnesota at 4-2 and in second place in the NFC North, it's no surprise that Allen had plenty of praise for his teammates.
Wide receiver Percy Harvin has been one of the key cogs in the Minnesota machine. Harvin is a versatile player who contributes on offense and special teams. In addition to Harvin's play on the field, Allen praised the fourth-year player out Florida as one of his best teammates:
"Percy is just, he's a great teammate, the dude is always working and we have to tell the coaches to try and take some workload off of him. He's just a guy who puts his hard hat on and tries to go to work. He's explosive. Pound-for-pound, what he does, it's absolutely amazing. I think he's definitely an MVP type of guy. I know he's one of the MVP's of our team. He's just, the guys a beast and that's the best and simplest way to describe it."
The Vikings are a perfect 3-0 at home this season, a record that includes an upset win over the heralded San Francisco 49ers. Allen attributed Minnesota's success at home to the team's fans:
"It's electric in there. Our crowd is great. They're loud, they're energetic and it's hard enough to hear defensive calls so I can only imagine what it's like trying to hear offensive calls like that. We have a great group of fans up here and they're excited about the way we are playing football right now."
Minnesota's four wins in 2012 surpass its total for the entire 2011 season. The Vikings host another 4-2 team, the Arizona Cardinals, at 1 p.m. CT Sunday. The game will be televised by FOX.
