Kevin Jairaj-US PRESSWIRE
Next week, ESPN's College Gameday will travel to Norman, Oklahoma, the site of a rare, late season non-conference matchup between top 10 teams.
Sometimes, there's a delay in the announcement to allow for all of the matchups from Saturday to reach their conclusion, but not this week. ESPN announced that for Week 9, College GameDay will broadcast on campus from Norman, OK.
Next week, undefeated Notre Dame, sure to maintain or perhaps improve its position in the BCS rankings after today's win over BYU, will travel to Norman to face a red hot Oklahoma Sooners team that is currently beating Kansas 38-0 at the half. Since losing to Kansas State, Oklahoma has rebounded to beat Texas Tech 41-20, Texas 63-21, and is well on its way to doing the same to Kansas today.
The Sooners, while perennially one of the top ranked teams in college football, haven't hosted College GameDay since 2008 when they were ranked No. 5 and beat then-No. 2 ranked Texas Tech 65-21. Next week will be the seventh time in the show's history that it has broadcast from Norman.
