Utah vs. Oregon State final score: Beavers remain perfect after win over Utah, 21-7

Steve Dykes

No. 8 Oregon State is the other team in Oregon that people are beginning to notice. The Beavers improve their record to 6-0 after beating Utah.

There might be another team in Oregon garnering more attention and the No. 8 Oregon State Beavers don't really care. With tonight's 21-7 win over Utah, the Beavers improved their record to 4-0 in the Pac-12 and 6-0 overall. Not bad for the other team from Oregon.

It was a really good night for Oregon State running back, and coolest name winner, Storm Woods. Woods scored all 3 of Oregon State's touchdowns in the game. His first came on a 1 yard run in the first half. His second touchdown was a 2 yard run in the second quarter. After taking a break from scoring in the third quarter, Woods scored his final touchdown of the night on a 2 yard run in the 4th.

Oregon State punter Keith Kostol had an unusually busy night. The Beavers inability to convert on third down lead to Kostol punting 8 times for a total of 305 yards. His counterparts on Utah combined for 5 punts and 191 yards.

Utah quarterback Travis Wilson had a decent night. He passed 172 yards on 15-of-28 attempts. The miscues on Wilson's stat line are the 2 interceptions and 2 sacks. The Utes managed to have 90 total yards more than Oregon State, but the 4 turnovers to Oregon State's zero negated all the gains.

Box Score Hero: In addition to his 18 rushes for 52 yards and 3 touchdowns, Oregon State's Storm Woods played a little receiver, too. Woods caught 2 passes for 14 yards.

Rankings Ramifications: Utah isn't ranked in the Top 25 like Oregon State. The win might bump the no-loss Beavers up a spot or two.

But Did They Cover? Nope! Oregon State was favored by -7 coming in.

Next Week's Schedule: Utah welcomes the Cal Bears to town in another Pac-12 game. The Beavers head to Washington to face the Huskies.
