Trent Richardson injury: RB aggravates rib injury

Al Bello

Nursing a rib injury entering Sunday's game has hampered the Browns' leading rusher

Trent Richardson remained on the sideline to start the second half. Entering Sunday's game, the Cleveland Browns' running back was nursing a rib injury, and it appears he aggravated it. His return is listed as "questionable."

For the majority of the 2012 season, Richardson had been the Browns' offense, but today against the Indianapolis Colts, the rookie RB had been struggling with just 8 yards on as many carries. Backup running back Montario Hardesty hasn't fared much better, with just seven yards on three carries.

Trent Richardson has 340 yards rushing on the year, and has been the backbone of Cleveland's running game. Today, however, it's the passing game making the difference. Fellow rookie Brandon Weeden has thrown for 198 yards and two touchdowns, but it remains to be seen how successfully Weeden can continue to throw without a running back to keep the defense honest, and work their play-action game.
