UCLA unveiled a statue of famed basketball coach John Wooden Friday afternoon outside the refurbished Pauley Pavilion. Fortunately it looks a whole lot better than the one in Indianapolis.
Famed UCLA basketball coach John Wooden, who passed away in 2010, still has a seat inside Pauley Pavilion, where he once coached.
It turns out, the coach will spend a lot of time standing around outside the arena, too.
As part of a 30-month, $136 million upgrade, a statue of the 10-time national champion coach was unveiled outside the main entrance to the Bruins' home on Friday. You, too, can receive the same unblinking stare as an official who just made a call against the Coach.
We're just glad the coach ducked during his visit to Indianapolis.
