2013 World Series odds: Detroit Tigers early favorites to win

Ezra Shaw

While the Tigers and their fans are still grieving over the team's loss to the San Francisco Giants in the 2012 World Series, perhaps they can take solace in knowing that Detroit is favored to win it all next year.

The 2013 World Series odds have already been released, and the Detroit Tigers are 6-to-1 favorites to win the title, according to Bovada.

The Tigers are coming off of a sweep at the hands of the San Francisco Giants in this year's version of the Fall Classic, but oddsmakers like their chances for next year, with Miguel Cabrera, Justin Verlander, Prince Fielder and most of the remainder of the team's core set to return in 2013. The New York Yankees, who were overmatched by the Tigers in the ALCS but have deep pockets and an equally deep desire to win, are second in the league with 7-to-1 odds.

The World Series-champion Giants are just behind with 10-to-1 odds, while the Texas Rangers, Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Angels each hold 12-to-1 odds. Here is the full list:
