All of Rafael Van der Vaart, Nigel de Jong and Ibrahim Afellay were left out of Louis van Gaal's last Netherlands squad as they attempted to settle in with their new teams. Now that the three transferred players have established themselves with their new clubs, they've been called into the squad and should feature over the next two matches in some way or another.
Among the young players dropped at the expense of the veterans is Feyenoord star Jordy Clasie, who looked a bit out of his depth in his first two starts under van Gaal. There's still no place in the team for veterans Joris Mathijsen and Mark van Bommel. Even though van Gaal's added some experience to his team for the matches against Andorra and Romania, this is still largely a youth movement. There is one very notable exception, and that is the inclusion of uncapped 30-year-old Ruben Schaken. He has one goal this season and did not start Feyenoord's last match.
