Shanghai Bobby stalked the early speed of Goldencents, rolled by the leader on the far turn and easily pulled away from his rivals to win the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park. Fortify held on to finish third and round out the trifecta.

The Champagne Stakes is a Breeders' Cup Challenge "Win and You're In" race which guarantees Shanghai Bobby a spot in the starting gate for the 2012 Breeders' Cu Juvenile at Santa Anita on November 3rd.

Shanghai Bobby is a two-year-old son of Harlans Holiday out of a Orientate mare (Steelin'), trained by Todd Pletcher and ridden by Rosie Napravnik.
