Georgia Tech vs. Clemson 2012 final score: Tigers beat Yellow Jackets, 47-31

In a game that featured more than 1,000 yards of offense, the Clemson Tigers bettered the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets by 16.

Tajh Boyd, DeAndre Hopkins, and the Clemson Tigers have beat the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 47-31 in front of a capacity crowd at Clemson's Memorial Stadium. Boyd had an impressive outing at quarterback, going 26-of-41 for 397 yards and two touchdowns. He also amassed 63 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Early in the fourth quarter, Georgia Tech kicked a field goal to take the lead 31-30, but Clemson would stop them there and score 17 unanswered points en route to a victory. The Tigers took the lead with 10 minutes to go on a 35-yard touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins.

The Yellow Jackets' option offense put forth a great rushing attack today, totalling 341 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 44 carries, but a lost fumble and a fourth-quarter safety were enough to keep them out of the picture late.

Box Score Hero: Clemson wideout DeAndre Hopkins had another game of big plays for the Tigers, catching seven balls for 173 yards and two touchdowns.

Rankings Ramifications: Clemson is likely to improve on their No. 15 ranking this week, pending the completion of a few other games. Georgia Tech came into this week unranked.

But Did They Cover? Clemson was favored by 10 points in this contest, keeping Georgia Tech from beating the spread by scoring their final touchdown with less than a minute to go.

Next Week's Schedule: Both Georgia Tech and Clemson have byes next week. The week after, Georgia Tech will host Boston College and Clemson will host Virginia Tech.
