The Jerramy Stevens and Hope Solo story is creeping everyone out

Christopher Hanewinckel-US PRESSWIRE

Today news surfaced that Jerramy Stevens and Hope Solo were (maybe) dating and (maybe) engaged, and then Stevens was in custody because of a domestic violence charge, with Hope Solo listed as the victim and his fiance. Then he was released.

We saw this news break on Twitter this afternoon, and in the span of 12 minutes, we went from indicting Jerramy Stevens for assaulting everyone's favorite women's soccer star to just being confused, a little shellshocked, and creeped out by it all.

It began with reports out of Washington state that Jerramy Stevens was arrested for domestic violence, with Hope Solo listed as the involved party. Chris Daniels, a reporter in Washington, tweeted the photo below, of Jerramy Stevens in an orange jumpsuit.

As Daniels elaborated in the coming minutes, Solo is listed as Stevens' fiancée in court documents, and the alleged incident happened at 3:45 a.m. in the couple's Kirkland, Washington home. But then, 12 minutes after the first tweet, this:

So that's what we know. The timing couldn't be more surreal, especially after we just spent the morning coming to terms with news that Solo and Stevens are dating and possibly getting married. Mind you, this is that Jerramy Stevens, and now we're all just a bit more confused than we were when we woke up this morning.

For instance: WHAT?

You can read the whole timeline from a Seattle P-I reporter here. It won't make much sense, but if you were told something involved a stun gun, an argument between someone and family members, and a late night call to Jerramy Stevens' house, you wouldn't be expecting "sense" in the first place.
