Before the World Wide Interweb, baseball writers and broadcasters would say something like this:
In MVP debate, consider the closing argument: Miguel Cabrera 1.079 OPS from Aug. 24 through end of season; Mike Trout was at .824. @mlbonfox— Jon Morosi (@jonmorosi) November 15, 2012
And there'd be nobody around to say this:
@jonmorosi why did you pick that date? Did something happen on Aug 23?— Preston, JD (@BayouJefe) November 15, 2012
Good question. On August 23rd, Trout went 3-for-6 with a walk, 2 stolen bases, 2 RBIs, and 2 Runs in a 10-inning win over the Red Sox.
Now is better.
